Latvia offers temporary residence on several distinct investment grounds — real estate, share capital in a Latvian company, interest-free government bonds, or subordinated bank liabilities. Each route also requires a separate one-off payment into the state budget when the first permit is issued.
Latvia's investor route is not a single product but several separate legal grounds under the Immigration Law. You can qualify by buying qualifying real estate, investing in the share capital of a Latvian company, acquiring interest-free government bonds, or placing subordinated liabilities with a Latvian bank. Each category has its own minimum amount and its own conditions, and the permit can extend to your close family.
An important and often-overlooked feature is that, on top of the investment itself, each route requires a separate one-off payment into the state budget when your first permit is issued. You will also need to show the relevant means of subsistence (higher for the real-estate route), a valid passport, and a criminal-record statement.
The required amounts, the state-budget payments and the means-of-subsistence levels differ by route and are set in regulation, so confirm the current figures on pmlp.gov.lv before committing funds. ACME can walk you through which investment ground best suits your goals and budget and help prepare the documentation.
