Who can I sponsor for family reunification in the Netherlands?

Dutch family reunification covers partners and children. As a sponsor you can apply for a residence permit for a foreign spouse, registered partner or an unmarried partner with whom you have a genuine relationship, and for minor children to live with their parent.

There are also specific permits for children born in the Netherlands and for adopted or foster children, plus a route for the parent of a minor Dutch child (the Chavez-Vilchez provision). Each relationship type has its own conditions, so identify the correct category before applying.
