Is there a ceremony or oath at the end of the Dutch naturalisation process?

Even after the IND approves your application, you are not Dutch until you attend the official naturalisation ceremony. This is a mandatory final step organised by your municipality.

At the ceremony you make a Declaration of Solidarity, confirming that you are aware Dutch law applies to you. If you do not attend the ceremony, your naturalisation is not completed, so treat the invitation as an essential part of the process rather than a formality you can skip.
