After approval you take an oath of allegiance, then receive your citizenship certificate, are assigned a personal numeric code (CNP), and can apply for a Romanian passport and ID.
Approval of a citizenship application is not the final step. You must attend a ceremony and swear the oath of allegiance to Romania, which is the moment citizenship legally takes effect.
After the oath you are issued a citizenship certificate and given a Romanian personal numeric code (CNP). With those in hand you can apply for civil documents, a national ID card and a Romanian (EU) passport.
Plan for this final administrative stage. Missing the oath ceremony or failing to complete the post-approval paperwork can delay you from actually using your new citizenship.
