Standard business residence permits are extended on an annual basis, which means a renewal cycle every year. For larger investors, Romania offers a more favourable term.

If your investment reaches at least EUR 500,000, or your business creates 50 or more full-time jobs, you can qualify for a three-year residence permit. This significantly reduces the administrative burden of frequent renewals.

The larger commitment is rewarded with greater stability, but the underlying conditions about a genuine, operating business and compliant company filings still apply throughout the permit.
