Can I do an internship in Switzerland as part of my studies?

Internships are possible for students, but with conditions. You need a residence permit that allows gainful employment, and it will not be granted unless the internship forms an integral part of your studies. In other words, a stand-alone internship unrelated to your curriculum is treated differently from a mandatory or curriculum-embedded placement. Check with your institution and the cantonal authorities before starting any placement so the work is properly authorised.
