When and how do I extend my Danish student residence permit?

A student permit is normally issued for the nominal length of your programme. If you need more time, you can extend, but you should apply no earlier than four months before the current permit expires. The standard maximum extension is one year, or up to two years where studies were prolonged by pregnancy or parental leave. If your passport expires sooner, the permit may be issued for a shorter period, so keep your travel document valid.
