How long can I stay in Luxembourg on an ICT permit?

The ICT permit is by design a temporary assignment permit, not a route to permanent settlement. Managers and specialists receive a permit that can run up to a maximum of three years in total. Trainees are limited to a maximum of one year.

Because the permit is linked to the length of the transfer, it cannot simply be extended indefinitely. Once the maximum duration is reached, the transferee is expected to leave or move to another country within the group. If you want to remain in Luxembourg longer term, you would generally need to switch to a different permit category, such as a salaried worker permit, subject to meeting its conditions.
