A key attraction of the Cyprus permanent residence by investment route is that it does not require you to relocate. Unlike many work or study permits, there is no minimum number of days you must spend in the country each year to maintain the status.

There is, however, an anti-abandonment rule: the permanent residence can be revoked if the holder is absent from Cyprus for a continuous period commonly cited as two years. To stay safe, holders typically make at least one short visit within any such window. You must also keep the qualifying investment in place; selling the property or fund units without an equivalent replacement can put the permit at risk.
