How many years of residence do I need for Czech permanent residence?

The standard route requires at least five years of continuous temporary residence in the Czech Republic at the time you apply. The residence must be continuous, so long or repeated absences can break the qualifying period.

There is a special rule for EU Blue Card holders, who can count time spent in other EU Member States: at least two years in the Czech Republic plus one year elsewhere in the EU can contribute toward the requirement.
