Is the subclass 101 Child visa a permanent visa?

The Child visa (subclass 101) is a permanent visa. Once granted, the child can live in Australia as a permanent resident, attend school or study, and (when old enough) work without restriction.

Permanent residents can also access Medicare and may later apply for Australian citizenship after meeting the residence requirements. The visa is granted to children who are outside Australia at the time of application.
