The 190 allows you to add members of your family unit to your application, typically a spouse or de facto partner and dependent children. They must meet health and character requirements like the main applicant.

Included family members share the permanent residence outcome, so they can live, work and study in Australia. If a partner has skills of their own, claiming partner skill points (or showing competent English / a relevant skills assessment) can also raise your overall points score. Family members not included at the time can usually apply later as subsequent entrants.
