A refusal can be on the grounds that conditions are not met (irrecevable) or that it is judged not opportune (inopportune), and you can appeal within set deadlines.
Not every application succeeds. The administration may declare your request inadmissible (irrecevable) if a legal condition is not met, or it may decide that granting nationality is not opportune (inopportune) even when conditions are met, sometimes postponing the decision.
You generally have two months to file an administrative appeal with the minister, who then has a set period to respond, after which you can take the matter to the competent administrative court in Nantes. If your file was refused for a fixable reason, such as missing documents or insufficient income, you can also address the issue and reapply later.
