What happens if I want to take an employed job while holding a Self-employed Key Worker card?

The Self-employed Key Worker card authorises only the specific self-employed occupation set out in your application. It does not allow you to take up ordinary employment with an Austrian employer.

If your plans change and you want to be employed, you would need to apply under a different Red-White-Red Card category, such as Other Key Workers, and satisfy that category's separate requirements (for example, salary, points, and any labour-market test). Planning ahead avoids a gap where you would be working outside the scope of your permit.
