To be eligible for a grant of citizenship you must have been physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days during the five years immediately before the date of your application. Time spent in Canada as a temporary resident or protected person before becoming a permanent resident can count as half a day each (0.5 day), up to a maximum of 365 days. Days outside Canada do not count, so keep an accurate travel history; the online physical-presence calculator helps you confirm the total.
