You are normally expected to stay with your initial employer for the first period of the permit before changing employers, except where exceptional circumstances such as redundancy apply.
When you first arrive on a Critical Skills permit, you are expected to remain with the employer named on the permit for an initial period before you can move to a new employer. The rule exists because the permit is tied to a specific job offer.
There are exceptions, for example where you are made redundant or where there is a fundamental change in your employment. If you do change employer, the new role usually still needs to meet the permit's eligibility and salary conditions, and a new permit application is generally required.
