The visa is generally valid for around 9 to 15 months from grant, and you must marry your prospective spouse before it expires.
The subclass 300 visa gives you a window of roughly 9 to 15 months in which to enter Australia and marry your sponsor. The marriage must take place while the visa is still valid.
If your circumstances change and you do not marry within that period, the visa cannot simply be extended. You would normally need to look at other visa options, so it is wise to set a wedding date that comfortably fits inside the validity period.
