Admission application deadlines fall around 5 September for the winter semester and 5 February for the summer semester.
Austrian universities work on a fixed semester cycle, and the official source gives annual application cut-offs of 5 September and 5 February. Missing these dates can push your start back by a full semester, which in turn delays your residence permit.
Because you also need a recognised diploma, proof of home-country admissibility, sufficient German and an available study place before applying, it is wise to start preparing months in advance. Line up your documents, certified translations and language evidence early so you can meet the relevant deadline comfortably.
