Does each of my family members need their own visitor record to stay longer?

A visitor record covers the individual it is issued to. Each member of your immediate family who wishes to remain in Canada longer must apply separately for permission to extend their stay.

This includes your spouse or common-law partner and any dependent children. You can often submit the applications together as a group, but each person needs their own application and must meet the requirements.
