The Home Care Worker Immigration (Child Care) Class and (Home Support) Class, launched March 31, 2025, are the current dedicated caregiver PR routes.
After the earlier Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot closed in June 2024, Canada launched two new caregiver permanent residence classes on March 31, 2025: the Home Care Worker Immigration (Child Care) Class and the Home Care Worker Immigration (Home Support) Class. These programs provide a pathway to permanent residence for people with work experience or training in eligible child care and home support occupations. They were designed to give qualifying caregivers a clearer route to PR, in some cases on arrival.
