When the project ends you may be able to stay in Cyprus for up to twelve months to look for a job or set up a business, if you can support yourself financially.
The framework recognises that researchers are valuable to the host economy, so it does not simply require you to leave the moment your project finishes. On completion of the research, you may be permitted to remain in Cyprus for a period of up to twelve months for the purpose of seeking employment or establishing a business.
To benefit from this you generally need to demonstrate that you can support yourself financially during the job-search or business-setup period. If you secure qualifying employment you would then move onto an appropriate work permit. This bridge period is a meaningful difference from permits that end abruptly, but it is conditional, so confirm the exact requirements with the Migration Department before relying on it.
