The framework recognises that researchers are valuable to the host economy, so it does not simply require you to leave the moment your project finishes. On completion of the research, you may be permitted to remain in Cyprus for a period of up to twelve months for the purpose of seeking employment or establishing a business.

To benefit from this you generally need to demonstrate that you can support yourself financially during the job-search or business-setup period. If you secure qualifying employment you would then move onto an appropriate work permit.
