The visa is granted for up to 12 months (or your certificate of sponsorship period plus 14 days, whichever is shorter). You cannot extend it from inside the UK.
A Graduate Trainee visa is a short-term route. You can stay for whichever is shorter: the time on your certificate of sponsorship plus 14 days, or a maximum of 12 months.
You cannot extend the visa while you are in the UK. If you need more time, you would have to leave and apply for a fresh Graduate Trainee visa from outside the UK. Be aware that there is an overall cap on Global Business Mobility visas of 5 years in any rolling 6-year period.
