The child must be between 4 and 17 years old and be coming to study at an independent (fee-paying) school in the UK.
The Child Student visa is for school-age children aged 4 to 17. Children aged 16 or 17 can alternatively apply for the main Student visa, but younger children must use this route.
The study must be at an independent school in the UK that is a licensed Child Student sponsor. The visa cannot be used to attend a state-funded school, so the choice of an approved independent school is central to eligibility.
