Family members of General Employment Permit holders cannot get a dependant permit automatically; they must qualify for their own permission, and family reunification is subject to income conditions.
Unlike the Critical Skills permit, the General Employment Permit does not give your spouse or partner automatic access to an easy dependant work permit. Family members generally have to qualify for an employment permit in their own right if they want to work.
Family reunification is still possible, but it is conditional, and sponsors typically need to meet a minimum gross income to bring a spouse or partner. This is one of the key trade-offs compared with the more family-friendly Critical Skills route.
