Yes. Guardian visa holders must hold and maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the whole duration of their stay in Australia.
Like the student you are caring for, you must hold Overseas Student Health Cover as a condition of the 590. It must be maintained for the entire time you are in Australia on the visa.
Arrange OSHC before the visa is granted and keep it current, including at renewal. Allowing your cover to lapse breaches your visa conditions and can affect both your stay and your ability to care for the student.
