It is valid for up to one year and can be extended only once, for a further year.
The White Card is capped at one year of validity. It can be extended a single time for another year, since a residence permit on this basis can only be extended once for the same purpose.
This effectively makes it a maximum two-year route. If you want to stay in Hungary beyond that, you should plan a different long-term strategy well before your second year runs out.
