
You must prove you can read, write, speak and understand English, usually to at least the required level for the route.
All applicants on this route must demonstrate the required standard of English in reading, writing, speaking and understanding. You can usually meet this with an approved Secure English Language Test, a degree taught in English, or by being a national of a majority English-speaking country.
Some regulated health professionals can rely on the English assessment already required for their professional registration (for example with the relevant nursing or medical regulator). Confirm which evidence the Home Office will accept before you book a test, so you do not pay for one you do not need.
