Yes. You can work as a home child care provider or home support worker for an employer who holds a positive LMIA under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
The Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot closed to new applicants on June 17, 2024. However, you can still come to Canada to work as a caregiver if you have a job offer from an employer who has obtained a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Common caregiver occupations are home child care provider (NOC 44100) and home support worker (NOC 44101). This route gives an employer-specific work permit rather than the open permit some pilots offered.
