The researcher permit is built around a hosting agreement (an agreement on research activity) signed with a research organisation in Finland. This document, not a standard job offer letter, is the foundation of the application.
You also need a relevant degree. Depending on your level, the permit may be either an EU-directive researcher permit (for second-cycle/master's level and above) or a national permit (for first-cycle/bachelor's level).
The hosting agreement specifies the research activity, so make sure it is complete and signed before you apply, alongside your degree certificate and proof of sufficient funds.
