Can my spouse and children join me on a Hungary Researcher permit?

Spouses and children of researchers holding a valid research permit may apply for their own residence permits to join you in Hungary. This is a recognised advantage of the researcher route compared with some other Hungarian permits that restrict family reunification.

A family member's permit cannot extend beyond the validity of your researcher permit. If you renew, the family members generally need to align their permits with your new dates, so keep the whole family's documents on the same timeline.
