If I get a spousal open work permit, can I work for any employer in Canada?

Unlike an employer-specific work permit, an open work permit is not tied to one job or company. You can change employers and accept most jobs without applying for a new permit.

There are a few standard restrictions: open work permits generally do not allow work for an employer who is non-compliant or who offers certain adult-entertainment services. You also remain bound by the validity dates and any conditions printed on your permit.
