This is France's standard work permit for non-EU nationals on a CDI or CDD contract who do not meet the Talent thresholds. Unlike the Talent route, the employer must obtain prior work authorisation, including a labour-market test.
The Talent — Qualified Employee card is a multi-year residence card (up to four years) for skilled employees with a master's-level degree and a qualifying French job. There is no labour-market test, and family members get a Talent — famille card with work rights.
