This residence permit is for non-EU researchers conducting research in Czechia under a hosting agreement with an approved Czech research organisation. No separate work permit is required.
Long-Term Residence for Scientific Research is built around a hosting agreement between you and a research organisation that appears on the Ministry of Education's approved list. Securing that host is the essential first step.
Alongside the hosting agreement you generally need a written cost-coverage commitment from the research organisation, a valid passport and photograph, and a criminal-record certificate when applying from abroad. A practical benefit is that no separate work permit is needed once the permit is granted. Processing is listed at 60 days with a fee of CZK 2,500.
Requirements and the approved-organisation list can be updated, so confirm the current details with your host and on ipc.gov.cz. If you already have a research offer in Czechia, ACME can review your eligibility and help assemble the application.
