The employer must obtain approval for the position, respect quota limits on third-country staff, offer lawful pay and conditions, and sponsor the application.
Under the single permit system the employer carries significant responsibility. The position usually has to be approved before the permit is granted, and the employer must respect limits on the proportion of their workforce that can be third-country nationals.
The employer must also offer terms consistent with Cyprus labour law, including lawful wages and conditions, and provide the contractual and corporate documents needed to support the application. The single permit framework is designed partly to protect workers from exploitation by tying lawful status to compliant employment. If your prospective employer is unwilling or unable to meet these obligations the application will struggle, so confirm the employer's standing early in the process.
