Medical insurance is a mandatory requirement for the Super Visa. You must show proof of valid coverage for at least one year from your date of entry, and the policy must cover health care, hospitalization, and repatriation.
In a change that made the program more accessible, IRCC now allows you to buy insurance from an approved provider outside Canada, not only from Canadian insurers. You must have valid insurance each time you enter Canada and when you apply to extend your stay.
