The Employee Card is Czechia's main combined work-and-residence permit and its national version of the EU Single Permit. A single document covers both stay and employment, usually tied to a specific job and employer, and it is open to all qualification levels.
The Employee Card (zaměstnanecká karta) is the everyday route for most non-EU workers in Czechia. Rather than seeking work and residence approvals separately, you get one document that authorises both. In its usual dual mode it is tied to a specific job and employer; a non-dual version exists as residence only for people who already have free access to the labour market. There is no salary minimum, and it is open to every qualification level.
To qualify you generally need a valid passport and an employment contract, agreement or letter of intent at or above the minimum wage, covering at least 15 hours a week. For the dual mode you also need a vacancy reference number from the Labour Office's Central Register of Vacancies, along with proof of accommodation in Czechia and, for applications made from abroad, a criminal-record certificate. The Information Portal for Foreigners lists processing of 60 days (up to 90 in complex cases), with a fee of CZK 2,500 in Czechia or a CZK 5,000 consular fee abroad.
