The Hungarian Card is a specialised employment-based residence permit for non-EU nationals in narrowly defined professional categories, available regardless of nationality. Eligible groups include certain minister-specified professions, athletes, performers and film-industry workers.
The Hungarian Card is an employment route reserved for specific professional groups rather than general employment. It is open regardless of nationality, but the eligible categories are deliberately narrow — covering minister-specified professions and groups such as professional athletes and coaches, performers, and film-industry workers transferred to or hired by a Hungarian employer.
To qualify you need an employment or transfer agreement with a Hungarian employer and must meet one of the defined professional criteria. As with other routes, you also need proof of accommodation in Hungary, comprehensive health insurance, sufficient financial means and a valid travel document.
Because eligibility turns on whether your profession falls within the listed categories, this is the key thing to confirm at the outset. ACME can assess whether your role fits the Hungarian Card or whether another permit suits you better, and we always suggest verifying the current criteria on the official portal first.
