This is a simplified work route for occupations on Lithuania's official shortage list. Workers in these roles are exempt from the labour-market test and can often start working before the residence permit is physically issued.
The Temporary Residence Permit for In-Demand Professions is a streamlined version of the employment route for people whose occupation appears on Lithuania's list of professions that are lacking in the national economy. The key advantage is that no labour-market test is required for listed occupations, which removes one of the slower steps in a standard work application.
To qualify you need a job offer in one of the listed in-demand roles and the relevant qualifications or work experience for that position. The application is filed via MIGRIS with the employer's mediation, and in many cases you may begin working before the residence permit card is actually in your hands.
Processing is up to about four months on the standard track or roughly two months on the urgent (paid) procedure. The shortage list is updated periodically, so an occupation that qualifies today may change, which makes it worth checking the current list before relying on it. ACME can confirm whether your profession is currently on the in-demand list and help you and your employer prepare the MIGRIS filing.
