Can my family come with me, and does the permit lead to permanent residence?

Family immigration is generally available to skilled workers: a spouse or cohabitant and children can usually apply to come and live with you in Norway, under the separate family immigration rules which include a maintenance requirement.

The skilled worker permit can also be a path to permanent residence. If your permit counts toward permanent residence (your decision letter confirms this) and you maintain continuous qualifying residence, you can apply for permanent residence once you meet the overall conditions, including residence period, language and social studies tests, income, and conduct.
