The Student Residence Permit is for non-EU students admitted to a Lithuanian higher-education institution. It allows limited work alongside study, and graduates may stay on to look for work or start a business.
Lithuania grants student residence permits to international students who have been accepted onto a programme at an accredited Lithuanian university or college. The starting point is your admission, after which you will need to show sufficient funds for living costs and tuition where it applies, hold valid health insurance, and have a valid travel document. Applications go through the MIGRIS system.
The permit is about more than studying: it allows a limited amount of work alongside your course, and once you graduate there are options to stay on to look for work or set up a business, which can lead into the country's work or business routes.
Standard processing runs up to about four months, with an urgent (paid) procedure of roughly two months. Because the funds required and working conditions can change, it is worth confirming the current details with your institution and the Migration Department. ACME can help you understand the financial and insurance evidence expected and plan your path from study toward longer-term residence.
