The Student Residence Permit is for non-EU students admitted to a recognised institution in the Netherlands. The institution acts as recognised sponsor and files the application; students may do limited work and qualify for the orientation year on graduation.
The Netherlands grants student residence permits to international students accepted onto a full-time accredited programme at a recognised education institution. The institution acts as the recognised sponsor and files the application. Alongside your admission, you will need to show sufficient funds for tuition and living costs, hold a valid passport and health insurance, and maintain genuine, full-time enrolment with satisfactory study progress.
The permit allows a limited amount of part-time or seasonal work so you can support yourself, and on graduation you can qualify for the Orientation Year (zoekjaar) permit to look for skilled work or start a business.
The legal maximum for a decision is 90 days. Because the funds required and permitted working hours can change, confirm the current details with your institution and the IND. ACME can help you understand the financial and insurance evidence expected and plan ahead for the Orientation Year and the routes that follow.
