Yes. Close family members can apply for temporary residence for the purpose of family reunification, subject to housing, income and insurance conditions.
Under Act No. 404/2011, a third-country national lawfully resident in Slovakia — or a Slovak or EU national — can be joined by close family members, typically a spouse and dependent children, through temporary residence for the purpose of family reunification. You generally need to prove the family relationship and show adequate accommodation, sufficient financial means, health insurance and a clean criminal record. The family member's residence is normally linked to the sponsor's status. Applications are handled by the Bureau of Border and Foreign Police.
