The Fast-track permit itself is employment-based and does not automatically grant permanent residence, but the time you spend legally living and working in Denmark can count toward the residence and supplementary requirements for permanent residence later.
Like other Danish work permits, a Fast-track permit expires when your employment ends and must be extended while you remain employed. It is not a permanent status in itself.
However, the years you live legally in Denmark, plus meeting requirements such as Danish language and stable full-time employment, can build toward a separate application for a permanent residence permit. Permanent residence is applied for under its own rules, not granted automatically through the work scheme.
