Children do not become Irish automatically when a parent naturalises, but a naturalised citizen can pass citizenship to children and minor children can have their own applications made on their behalf.
Becoming an Irish citizen yourself does not instantly convert your children's status. However, once you are an Irish citizen, that can open citizenship pathways for your children depending on where and when they were born.
For minor children already in Ireland, a parent or guardian can submit a naturalisation application on the child's behalf, which is assessed against the conditions that apply to minors. The right route depends on each child's birthplace, age and residence, so it is best to look at each child individually rather than assuming they are covered by your own grant.
