A first permanent residence is generally granted for five years and can later be extended to an unlimited duration.
When you are first granted permanent residence in Slovakia, it is typically issued for a fixed period of five years rather than indefinitely from the outset.
After that initial period, and provided you continue to meet the conditions set out in the law on residence of aliens, the permit can be extended to an unlimited duration. Mark the renewal date and keep meeting the requirements so your status can move to indefinite validity.
