It can be granted for up to 3 years at a time and is renewable; after 5 years on the route, including at least one grant longer than 12 months, you may apply for settlement.
Each grant of the International Sportsperson visa can be for up to 3 years, and you can extend it as long as you remain eligible and your sponsor and endorsement stay in place.
Settlement (indefinite leave to remain) can be available after 5 continuous years, provided at least one of your grants of permission was for more than 12 months. You will also need to meet the wider settlement requirements, including the English language and Life in the UK test rules.
