What happens to my Estonian residence permit if I drop out or interrupt my studies?

The study permit exists for the purpose of studying, so one of its core conditions is that you do not interrupt your studies. If you stop studying, drop out, or fall below full-time enrollment, the legal basis for your permit can fall away.

If your circumstances change, for example you want to switch programs or take a break, speak to your institution and the authorities promptly. There may be options such as changing curriculum or moving to a different basis of stay, but acting early is far safer than letting your status lapse.
