How long is the Latvia Startup Visa valid, and can it be extended?

Unlike many work permits tied to a one-year contract, Latvia's startup residence permit can be granted for a longer term of up to three years. This gives founders time to build the company without re-applying every year.

To extend or repeat the permit you generally need to show the startup is still active, that you remain involved, and that you continue to meet subsistence requirements. Apply before your current permit expires (Latvia also allows a repeat application within a limited window after expiry) to avoid a gap in your legal status.
