Who is the ICT Card for?

The Intra-Corporate Transfer (ICT) Card is designed for staff who move within the same company or group of companies from a unit outside the EU to one in Germany. It covers three categories: managers in key leadership roles, specialists with specialised knowledge essential to the host entity, and trainees who hold a university degree and are completing a graduate development programme.

Because it is built around an internal transfer, the ICT Card is not for someone simply taking a new job with an unrelated German employer. The link between the sending unit abroad and the receiving unit in Germany is central to eligibility.
