Proof of financial support is a key requirement. You must demonstrate that you can pay tuition and support yourself, plus any family members coming with you, while in Canada.
If your program lasts more than a year, you generally need to show proof of funds for the first year of study. If your program is less than a year, you need to show funds for the full length of your studies. IRCC sets minimum living-cost amounts, and acceptable proof can include bank statements, a Guaranteed Investment Certificate, or proof of a student loan, among others.
